FAWN had a Christmas miracle. Our 17th shipment arrived in South Africa mid December 2007. Normally, FAWN would have to pay over $1,000 in custom fees. We prayed and a mining company there paid and all the liquid nutrition was released., over 2.5 tons . Those suffering with AIDS will have more energy and life to celebrate Christmas. I am thankful. This was my Christmas gift from  above.  We must do more in 2008.

September 15, 2005

I am learning a lot about the forces that try to prevent the good from going forth and all the politics involved. I was a little discouraged but today when we visited a hosice and made home visits and visited a hospital , I felt a fierce renewal and resolve to do good. These people have received our "tins" as they call them and begged for more. I was humbled. We prayed with them and sang for them. (Tracey was great) Please pray for us. Some important meetings await me.

I spoke at the city council meeting yesterday and the Mayor was supportive. One of the council people was Muslim woman and wants us to help the area of town she represents. The city is 30% Muslim and is facing the crisis also. She wants me to meet with one of their influential doctors. I am excited about this. Pray for this encounter.

I miss and love all of you. So much to share when I get home.

Please pray for us.

See you soon. Love, Pastor Frank

How can I say thanks to so many who have given and helped? May God Bless you. I will keep you posted. May our efforts be blessed as we attempt to help the least of our brethren dying of Aids in Africa.

Dear Pastor Frank

I have been asking opinions about what assistance could be rendered to us

by the hospital - people considered medicines but it appears that the legal

issues around importation of medicines are too complex.

However is there any chance they could look at supporting us with home

based care supplies?

a list of items used include the following:

bandages, elastoplasts, cotton wool, calamine lotion, linen savers, gentian

violet, savlon/dettol/antiseptic, Vaseline, antiseptic ointments, latex

gloves, soap, gauze squares, etc - ie items (surgical sundries) not

governed by legislation in terms of medicine control

I am not sure if this is possible, - perhaps you could find out.

I heard from Pastor Quinton the other day that the next shipment of ensure

is nearly here - thanks

A Boy Scout from Detroit, named James Wyle, took the Ensure for Africa program on as his Eagle project. The people were generous and he collected over $1,000.00 dollars. I am meeting with him Feb. 1, and am thrilled to complete any paperwork for him to get his badge. He wants to meet Pastor Quinton when he comes to Detroit from South Africa the last week of Feb., to hear how the liquid nutrition is helping those with Aids there.

January 13, 2005

Dear Frank Thank you also for the last shipment of ensure, which was collected from Pastor Quinton on Tuesday, and which we are now distributing to the groups of volunteers.

They say it really is making a difference - much better than the epap which we were using - and helps people to regain their strength.

The group you met in Imbali (where there were more formal houses) have now opened a centre where they can care for patients as in-patients. They have three at present and work 24 hours looking after them. They also give them the ensure, and have continued with the feeding scheme. They were given some beds and equipment by a local private hospital, and we (the Council) have also helped with some supplies. With their energy and commitment I believe they will really be able to help their community deal with this epidemic.

The Government roll-out of anti-retrovirals has commenced, but it has not yet impacted on the death rate. Hopefully it will in the long term.

I hope your project continues to be successful.

best wishes

Ensure for Africa will be changing its name to Fighting AIDS with Nutrition. We filed as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization and in the process needed to change our name.

November 16, 2004: Shipment Update

We had a miracle. We just sent a shipment of liquid nutrition to S. Africa and usually we need 2 months to collect another one. We got a call from a vitamin company in New Jersey. They were going to attach a bottle of Ensure to their vitamins to help sell them. The shelf life is only till Feb. 2005. They found us on the internet and donated the 10,000 bottles. We had them pick it up today and ship it from New Jersey to Botswana. It should get there before Christmas. Hopefully it will help the sick feel stronger for the Holiday.

November 2, 2004: Shipment Update

November 5th shipment to Pietermeritberg, S. Africa. This is shipment number 10. with a total of 40,000 lbs, 20 tons (5 to Bostwana and now 5 to S. Africa) ship to date. We hope it will arrive before Christmas so the people will have extra energy for the Holiday.
